In this Customizing activity, you can define tolerance groups that are used to maintain allowed differences for products and payments in the Settle Route Dataapp.

A difference is a discrepancy between planned and actual quantities calculated by the Settle Route Data app.

Note

In this Customizing activity, all differences must be defined without plus/minus signs. However, in the Settle Route Data app, negative values are displayed with a minus sign.

Upper Limit and Lower Limit

Define the maximum allowed differences for the whole tolerance group. Therefore, the actual differences of all products and payments belonging to the tolerance group are added up and compared to the lower limit value or the upper limit value respectively.

As a result, if the sum of all differences for a route exceeds the defined upper limit or falls below the defined lower limit, it is not possible to settle the route.

Example of Upper Limit Values:

The upper limit for the tolerance group TG01 is set to 60.

A recorded payment for TG01 in the Settle Route Dataapp shows a difference of 50.

Another recorded payment for TG01 in the Settle Route Dataapp shows a difference of 15.

Taken together, the difference of recorded payments exceeds the upper limit of 60 and therefore, the route cannot be settled. Note that this also applies if the upper limit of recorded products is exceeded.

Example of Lower Limit Values:

The lower limit for the tolerance group TG01 is set to 40.

A recorded product for TG01 in the Settle Route Data app shows a difference of -35.

Another recorded product for TG01 in the Settle Route Dataapp shows a difference of -7.

Taken together, the difference of recorded products falls below the lower limit of 40 and therefore, the route cannot be settled. Note that this also applies if the recorded payments fall below the lower limit.

Small Positive Differences and Small Negative Differences

Define the maximum allowed differences per product or payment within a tolerance group. In this case, the tolerance for each individual product or payment is determined and compared to the limit for the tolerance group.

Example of Small Positive Differences:

The small positive difference for the tolerance group TG01 is set to 10.

The recorded products for TG01 in the Settle Route Dataapp show a difference of 25.

The recorded products exceed the limit of 10 for small positive differences and therefore, the route cannot be settled. Note that this also applies if the upper limit of recorded payments is exceeded.

Example of Small Negative Differences:

The small negative difference for the tolerance group TG01 is set to 20.

The recorded payments for TG01 in the Settle Route Dataapp show a difference of -25.

The recorded payments fall below the limit of 20 for small negative differences and therefore, the route cannot be settled. Note that this also applies if the recorded products fall below the lower limit.

The indicated values for all the above-mentioned differences refer to the base unit of measure (UoM). It is therefore possible that a recorded quantity exceeds or falls below a tolerance limit when the given UoM is converted into the base UoM.

Example:

The difference value is set to 10.

The delivery consists of a crate of 9 bottles of water (base UoM is 1 bottle). The recorded quantity in the Settle Route Data app totals 2 crates.

However, when the 2 crates are converted into the base UoM (in total 18 bottles), the tolerance value is exceeded.
