In this Customizing activity, you can specify the freight order statuses that trigger route assembly by freight order type and, optionally, by execution organization.

During route preparation, a transportation order message that contains all necessary route data (based on a freight order) is sent from Transportation Management (TM) to Last Mile Distribution (LMD) and the route assembly process and/or the printing of documents is triggered. In a paper-based scenario, the printed documents are used later on, for example, by delivery drivers because the documents contain information required during route execution such as customer addresses or ordered products.

You have specified freight order types in the Customizing activity Specify Relevant Freight Order Types.

  • Specify a freight order type.
  • Optional: Specify an execution organization.
If an execution organization is specified, the system considers the statuses of freight orders by freight order type for this execution organization. If an execution organization is not specified, the system considers the statuses of freight orders, irrespective of the execution organization.
  • Specify which freight order status must be set to assemble a route and/or to print documents to configure the process flow from TM to LMD according to your business requirements.
  • Optional: Specify a freight order prerequisite status.
During route preparation, in the Create Road Freight Order or the Edit Road Freight Order apps, a transportation manager sets freight order statuses. Statuses can also be set automatically with the Transportation Cockpit.
If a freight order prerequisite status is specified, a freight order must have this specified status before the actual freight order status can be set.
Example:
Freight Order Prerequisite Status: Ready for Transportation Execution
A freight order cannot be set to In Execution if the status has not first been set to Ready for Transportation Execution.
  • Optional: Select the Not Reversible indicator.
Select this option to prevent users from changing the status back to a previous freight order status. For example, if a status is not reversible and a freight order already has the status In Execution, the status cannot be reset to Ready for Transportation Execution. Similarly, a freight order cannot be canceled if its status has already been set to In Execution.

Note

You can map freight order statuses to route life cycle statuses in the Customizing activity Map Source Statuses to Route Life Cycle Statuses.
