This Customizing activity offers you an overview on the rules for the best record calculation that are part of the standard delivery. You can add own rules, you created to meet your business requirements.
The process step best record calculation, calculates a record containing the cumulated, most valuable data for each match group that is identified by the process step matching.This calculation follows a well defined process based on certain rules.
In the Customizing activity Specify Process Template, you specify whether and in what configuration you use the best record calculation as part of the consolidation process.
The standard delivery contains the following rules to determine the best record:

| RECENCY | The best record is the one with the most recent data | Table | |
| SOURCE_SYSTEM | The best record is chosen based on the specified source system | Table | |
| BRFPLUS | Best record calculation is up to BRF+ | Table | Table needs to be set up accordingly. |
