V_OVF_CHECKACTIV - Activate Validation Checks

Activate online validation checks for the external validation service.

This activity enables you to activate online validation checks for selected criteria associated with business partners.

To enable online validation checks for selected criteria, complete the following steps:

  • Activate Validation Checks(outlined in this activity)
  • Maintain Validity Period for Results

To activate online validation checks, specify the following parameters:

  • Check ID: specify the required validation check, eg. VIES for VAT Information Exchange System (VIES)
  • Communication system or RFC Name: specify the system or RFC name

For example, you can activate a check of the VAT Information Exchange System (VIES) and use VIES web services to check the validity of VAT numbers. This check is used to confirm the validity of VAT numbers recorded in the VAT Registration Numberfield of the business partner's master record.

To activate VIES validation of VAT numbers, specify the following parameters:

  • Check ID: VIES
  • Communication system or RFC Name: 0543_VIES
  • For information about specifying a valid timeframe to store the search results, see Maintain Validity Period for Results.
