V_PRODART6B - Define Product Types - OTC Options

Define the product types used for OTC options.

Each product type is assigned to exactly one product category. Product types are used to further segment financial products assigned to a product category according to company-specific requirements. For example, differentiation is necessary if the individual instruments are subject to different processing rules or if you want to create different levels for the evaluation. By assigning different structural characteristics, you can predefine various forms of transactions.

The financial transaction is finally set up by combining the product type with a transaction type.

1. Name your product type. You have a 3-character alphanumeric field for this.
2. Specify the long text and short text for your new product type.
3. Choose the product category 760. The product category is a predetermined classification of the financial products in the transaction management.
4. In the Options/Forwards area, choose the settlement indicator and the exercise type.
5. In the Underlying area, choose the product type and the transaction type for the underlying financial transaction of the option.
6. Save your entries.
