In this Customizing activity, you make the necessary settings to enable the Generate XML files for transmission (RPCBENUS_ACA_XML) report to generate XML files as required for the scenarios of the Affordable Care Act Assurance Testing System (AATS).

To generate an XML file to be submitted to the Affordable Care Act Assurance Testing System (AATS):

  1. Familiarize yourself with the AATS scenarios described on the IRS website.
  2. Ensure the necessary master data is available in your system (for example, employer and employee data are available as described in the scenario narratives available on the IRS website).
  3. Execute this Customizing activity.
  4. Execute the Collect Data for Employees (RPCBENUS_ACA_PERSON) report.
  5. Execute the Collect Data for ALEs (RPCBENUS_ACA_ALE) report.
  6. Execute the Print Forms 1095-B and 1095-C (RPCBENUS_ACA_PERSON_PRINT) report to check results (optional step).
  7. Execute the Print Forms 1094-B and 1094-C (RPCBENUS_ACA_ALE_PRINT) report to check results (optional step).
  8. Execute the RPCBENUS_ACA_XML report, entering the required data in the Selection Criteria group box, and making the following entries:
  • In the IRS Test File Code field, enter T

  • Select the Test Mode checkbox

  • In the P_TCASE field, enter the single-digit number of the AATS scenario

Execute this Customizing activity and perform the steps described below:

  1. Select the Country Grouping '10'.
  2. Choose Continue.
  3. Go to Define HR Attribute Groups and choose New entries.
  4. Insert the new group as shown below:
  • HR Attribute Group: make an entry, for example, GR_ACA_TS_x, where x is the scenario identifier (for example, GR_ACA_TS_7)

  • HR Attribute Group Description: make an entry, for example, "IRS AATS Scenario 7"

  • HR Attribute: CL_ACA_TSCENARIO

  • Customizable Value of HR Attribute: This is the scenario number that the report will enter in the TestScenarioID tag at the level of the ALE. Make an entry, for example, 7-0.

  1. Save your entries.
  2. On the Define HR Attributes Groups screen, select the group (in the example above, GR_ACA_TS_7) and go to Define HR Attribute Values:
  3. Create entries for the following HR Attributes:
  • AT_ACA_ALE- Reporting ALE - AATS Scenario

  • AT_ACA_FNAME0x - First Name for Test Case 0x - AATS Scenario (create as many entries as required by the AATS scenario)

  • AT_ACA_LNAME0x - Last Name for Test Case 0x - AATS Scenario (create as many entries as required by the AATS scenario)

  • AT_ACA_SSN0x - SSN for Test Case 0x - AATS Scenario

  • AT_ACA_TCASE0x - This is the scenario number that the report will enter in the TestScenarioID tag at the level of the employee (create as many entries as required by the AATS scenario)

For more information, refer to the example section below.
  1. Choose Activate.

Note
To enable the RPCBENUS_ACA_XML report to post-process the XML file according to specific needs of your company, proceed as follows:
- Create a customer-specific ABAP Class in transaction SE24. The customer-specific class must inherit from class CL_HRBENUS_ACA_AATS_TC and use method MODIFY_XML.
- In this Customizing activity, create an entry for HR Attribute AT_ACA_EXIT, and in the Customizable Value of HR Attribute field, enter the name of your customer-specific ABAP Class.

For AATS scenario 7, with 1 employee, the entries for the HR Attributes would be as follows:
