In this Customizing activity, you define the absence types whose presence in the middle of annual leave would deem that an annual leave absence period as not continuous. This is only relevant if the V_T511K constant LVONE is set to 2. In case such an absence type falls between two annual leaves, the entire leave duration will not be considered as continuous even if the employee did not return to work in between. For example, if an employee took annual leave before going on parental leave and then took some annual leave prior to returning from parental leave then the two sets of annual leave would normally not be considered continuous and hence should be evaluated differently. In this case the absence type for parental leave should be specified in this table.

This table view is checked by the Leave Payments (Absence Quota Payments) - NZ (NZLVP) payroll function only when the value of the One rate for leave payout (LVONE) payroll constant is ‘2’.

  1. In PSG, select the personnel sub-area grouping whose absence type is to be maintained as not continuous.
  2. In A/AType, select the absence type to be maintained as not continuous.
  3. In Start Date and End Date, specify the start and end dates respectively between which the absence type should be considered as not continuous.
  4. Select Not Cont to indicate that the absence type will not be considered as continuous if it falls between an annual leave.
  5. Press Enter.
The entry is recorded and the description of the absence type is displayed in Att./abs. type text.
  1. Click Save.

Note: If an absence is not recorded in this table, its presence in the middle of an annual leave period will deem the annual leave absence period to be continuous. For example, if sick leave is not in the table (or is not set to 'not cont') and the employee has two days of annual leave followed by one day of sick leave and then two more days of annual leave, then the last two days of annual leave will be valuated at the same rate as the first two days.
