V_TBACC_BAS_CAT - Specify Basis Category

In this Customizing activity, you specify the basis category that categorizes basis components and the related basis market prices.

Select New Entries.
Enter an identifier and a description for the new basis category.
Indicate, whether the basis category is based on a DCS and a MIC.
Once, a DCS and a MIC have been used for the market price determination, it will not be possible anymore to deactivate these settings.
Enter the default currency and the default unit of measure that are used for the statistical analysis of the basis prices (Yearly High/Low and Historic High/Low) that have been entered before in the transaction Edit Basis Prices (FDCS17B).
Save your entries.

As the identifier for local market A, a basis ID is defined and assigned to the basis category Location Differentials. During pricing, the price type and the basis ID are determined automatically. As a result, the prices are determined for local market A.

To determine internal as well as external prices during pricing, the basis types Location Differential - Internal View and Location Differential - External View are assigned to the basis category Location Differentials.
The internal prices can then be used, for example, to calculate mark-to-market values.
