V_TBACC_BAS_TYPE - Specify Basis Type

In this Customizing activity, you can, for a selected basis category, specify a basis type to differentiate, as for example, between the internal and the external view on basis prices.
With the combination of the basis ID and the basis type, the system automatically determines the basis market data.
The basis ID is the key for the determination of the basis market data.

As a default setting, for basis prices defined at a price date, the delivery period must not start before the price date (leads to shrinking periods). For certain combinations of basis type and price type, deviations from this rule can be defined. This allows to specify delivery periods, which start before the price date.

You must have defined a basis category before.

1. Select New Entries.
2. Enter an identifier and a description for the basis type.
3. Assign a basis category to the new basis type.
4. Specify whether shrinking periods should be suppressed.
5. Save you entries.

To determine internal as well as external prices during pricing, the basis types Location Differential - Internal View and Location Differential - External View are assigned to the basis category Location Differentials.
The internal prices can then be used, for example, to calculate mark-to-market values.
