WA_EA_INT_MM_001 - Configure Materials Management for Waste Management

Wastes are represented in the SAP system by materials. Functions can also be triggered in the Materials Management component from disposal processing in the Waste Management component. This IMG activity describes the settings required for Waste Management that you have to make in Customizing for Materials Management.

If different departments in your enterprise are responsible for Waste Management and Materials Management, these departments should agree on the Customizing settings they want to make in Materials Management.

Check and add to the Customizing settings in Materials Management, in particular the following IMG activities:

• Define Attributes of Material Types

If you want to use your own material types for wastes in Waste Management, create these material types using the SAP reference material type Nonvaluated materials as a template. You must then mark the new material types created as waste-relevant in the IMG activity Specify Waste-Relevant Material Types so that you can use them in Waste Management.

• Copy, Change Movement Types

If you want to use your own movement type in inventory management within an application function, create this movement type. For more information about using inventory management within Waste Management, see the documentation for the Configure Inventory Management for Waste Management IMG activity and the application help.
