Waste codes and properties of wastes are entered as specifications in the Basic Data and Tools component. Waste Management also uses the functions of the following components for generating, printing, and shipping disposal documents:

  • Report generation in the Basic Data and Tools component
  • Report information system, report management, and report shipping in the Product Safety component

This IMG activity describes the settings you have to make in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools so that you can also use the relevant functions in Waste Management. For more information about the settings you have to make in Customizing for Product Safety, see Configure Product Safety for Waste Management.

Check the settings in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools and add to them if necessary. In particular, check and complete the following IMG activities:

Check whether the user exit SRS_HAZWAM (user exit category SRS_QUERY) is available for the shipping orders for disposal documents. For this user exit, the function modules CVEU_RDO_FIND_BY_APPROVAL and CVEU_RDO_FIND_BY_HEAD must be specified in the Function module name fields. The environment parameter FLG_SEARCH_WITH_HEADER_DATA cannot have a value and the environment parameter VIEWAPPL must have the value WASTEMGMT.
  • Check whether a user exit of the user exit category SRE_DIST1 exists to which the function module EHSWA_280_RDOS_CREATE_EXIT is assigned. The user exit must correspond to the user exit that was specified in the IMG activity Assign Names for User Exits in the following entries:

- Shipping reason MAN_CALL, business process HWM_DIST, exit category CREATE
- Shipping reason PRINT_CALL, business process HWM_DIST, exit category CREATE

This specification type is required to map waste codes in the system.
  • If you want to use your own specification type for wastes, specify it and assign the specification category SUBSTANCE to it.

  • Check whether the identification types WASTECOCAT (waste catalog) and WASTECODES (description of waste code) are available for the identification category NAM, and whether the specification category WASTECODE is assigned to both.

  • Check whether the identification type WASTECODE is available for the identification category NUM and whether the specification category WASTECODE is assigned to it.

  • The standard system contains other value assignment types for describing waste properties. If you require additional value assignment types, then specify them.

  • If you use the standard value assignment types, check whether the function module C14K_WASTECATLG_CHECK is specified in the classification system for the characteristic SAP_EHS_1024_001_WASTE_CATALOG (waste catalog) in the value assignment type SAP_EHS_1024_001 (waste code) under Check Values with Function Module. This function module checks the correct entry of the waste catalog.

Check whether the phrase sets were generated for all characteristics of the value assignment types that are provided for value assignment by phrases.
  • Check whether the property tree WASTECODE exists and whether the value assignment type SAP_EHS_1024_007 is assigned to it.

  • If you require your own property trees for describing waste properties, set them up.

  • If you have specified your own value assignment types, assign them to the property trees that you want to use for describing wastes.

Check whether all report symbols exist that you require to create disposal documents.
Check whether the report symbol group 13 (parameter: disposal documents) exists and whether the function module C12O_PARAMETER_VALUES_SELECT in the Symbol expansion funct. module field, the function module C12N_DEFAULT_PARAM_HAZWAM in the Foreign key - function module field, and the report application WASTEMGMT (symbol group 13) in the Rep. applic field have been assigned to it.
In the standard system, sample templates are delivered that you can use as the basis for your report templates. The following sample templates for disposal documents are delivered, which you have to import as described in the IMG activity when you want to use them:
  • BGS EXAMPLE: Abfallbegleitschein (Germany)

The WWI files for this template are EXPL_BGS.DOC and EXPL_BGS.DAT.
  • HWM EXAMPLE: Hazardous Waste Manifest (USA)

The WWI files for this template are EXPL_HWM.DOC and EXPL_HWM.DAT.
Note:
All the sample templates are only intended to provide a basis for structuring your own report templates. SAP does not guarantee that the selection of data fields in these reports is complete or correct in accordance with the regulations that apply in your country.

For more information on the individual points, see the documentation for the IMG activities and the documentation for Basic Data and Tools.
