In this IMG activity, you maintain profiles for the working context.

The working context profile determines the attributes that are available when creating a working context. You assign working context profiles to business roles.

A working context profile contains one or more assigned provider classes. Provider classes have a predefined set of attributes. However, you can deselect those that you do not want available for a particular business role. You can also set language-dependant descriptions for attributes.

You can determine the control level for the working context profile. There are two control levels:

  • Strict
This ensures that the user cannot accidentally leave the current working context. When strict control is enabled you can deactivate the working context, but you cannot override it by specifying values outside the context.
  • Flexible
This allows the user to leave or override the currently active working context. For example, the user can create a trade promotion for a product category other than the one specified in the working context.

SAP currently provides one working context profile: TPM. You can use the TPM profile in trade promotion management, including claims and funds management. If you need to restrict attributes for particular business roles, you can create other working context profiles.

  1. Define a new working context profile and determine the control level in Define function profiles.
  2. Assign one or more provider classes to a working context profile in Assign working context providers.
  3. Deselect attributes for a provider class in Working context attribute adjustment.
  4. Set language-dependent descriptions for attributes in Working context attribute adjustment.
  5. Assign the working context profile to a business role in the IMG activity Define Business Role:
    1. In Assign Function Profile, assign the WORKING_CONTEXT function profile ID and a function profile value, such as TPM.
    2. In the business role detail view, assign the UI layout profile CRM_UIU_MASTER_WCTXT to the Layout Profile field.
