This IMG activity enables you to define filter objects and assign one or multiple filtersto the individual filter objects.

The filters defined here are realized via the relevant class in at least one service implementation, to make them available for subsequent activities. This also enables the filters to be used and activated in the outbound message configuration of an application.

SAP supplies customizing entries for filter objects that are realized in service implementations. You can use these entries directly. The technical key of the corresponding filter objects is numeric.

Note:

The filter objects and filters supplied by SAP, including their characteristics, must neither be changed nor copied. This is due to the strict dependencies that exist between these items and the service implementations that use the filter objects.

You also have the option of defining your own filter objects. This requires you to program the relevant filter objects in a service implementation. For this purpose, the customer namespace A* to Z* is reserved.

Define a filter type in the corresponding customer namespace and enter a text (language-dependent) as description for the relevant filter object. Then assign the relevant implementing class and the corresponding database table, that characterizes the filter object, to the filter object.

In addition, assign one or multiple filters to the filter object and enter a text as a description for the filter semantics. Depending on the relevant filter type, you may also have to store an ABAP Dictionary structure and a filter method.
