Use this IMG activity to define collections of restriction rules. Use this activity to define how the system should handle such situations, and which messages (if any) should be sent to the employee.

Restriction profiles are later assigned to a default settings group. For more information, see Define Default Group Settings.

You have defined at least one restriction rule to be applied to the restriction profile. For more information, see Define Restriction Rule.

If you are using Block Unscheduled feature and want to associate a restriction message to the unscheduled punch, you must define the restriction message. For more information, see Define Restriction Message.

You use the Block Unscheduled? field to ensure that employees cannot punch in when they do not appear on the schedule. If the Unscheduled restriction message is to be included in the profile, enable the Block Unscheduled? check box. This activates the Restriction Message field where you can specify the message associated with the restriction. The Restriction Message field is not activated when the check box is not enabled.

  1. Choose New Entries to define a new restriction profile, or select an existing profile to maintain its values.
  2. Define a unique identifier to the profile, which will be used for display and identification purposes.
  3. Select the Block Unscheduled? check box to prohibit employees from punching in for shifts for which they have not been scheduled.
  4. In the Restriction Message field, enter the text to be displayed to the employee whose punch has been blocked.
  5. Enter short and long descriptions of the restriction profile.
  6. Choose Restriction Rule.
  7. Select the restriction rule(s) from the available choices to apply the rule to this profile.
  8. Save your entries.
