WFATM_RESTR_RULE - Define Restriction Rule
BAL_S_LOG - Application Log: Log header data Addresses (Business Address Services)This documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
You use this IMG activity to define restriction rules placed upon punches that fail based on the restriction characteristics. For example, if you wish to prohibit employees from punching 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of their shift, you can use this activity to define this restriction.
You must define the restriction messages to which the restriction rules apply. For more information, see Define Restriction Message.
The fields of the restriction rules have the following characteristics:
- Punch Status-- specifies when the punch restriction is triggered. Choose either Earlyor Late. The punch status does not apply to Double Punchpunch types.
- Punch Type -- specifies the type of punch to which the restriction rule applies:
- Punch In
- Punch Out
- Break In
- Break Out
- Meal In
- Meal Out
- Double Punch
- Restriction Type -- Defines whether the punch is allowed (Grace) or denied (Blocked).
- Duration-- works in conjunction with the punch status to define the number of minutes within which the restriction is valid.
- Choose New Entries to define a new restriction rule, or select an existing rule to maintain its values.
- Enter the name of this restriction rule in the Restriction Rule field. This value is used for display and identification purposes.
- In the Restriction Message list, select the message to appear when this restriction is enforced.
- Define the characteristics for the restriction rule:
- Punch Status (early or late),
- Punch Type(in or out for shifts, breaks, and meals, or double punch),
- Restriction Type (grace or blocked).
- Duration, in minutes, defining the length of the restriction interval.
- Enter a brief description of the restriction rule.
- Save your entries.

Descriptions:
- Early_Punch: Employees cannot punch in earlier than 30 minutes before their scheduled time; punches earlier than 30 minutes are blocked.
- Late_Out: Employees should not punch out later than their scheduled shift end time; they receive a message with the restriction warning when they do.
- Double_Punch: Employees are blocked from punching In when they are already punched in; a punch status does not apply to the double punch.
