In this Customizing activity, you can make settings to prevent the system from automatically updating the organizational assignments in the case of temporary and permanent transfers of an employee to a different position in the same organizational unit (internal transfers). You can also use this activity to prevent the system from automatically updating the organizational assignments in the case of temporary transfers of an employee to a position in a different organizational unit (external transfers) if one of the following applies:

  • The external transfer is completely in the past.
  • The external transfer ends within the specified planning horizon.
  • The duration of the external transfer is shorter than, or equal to, the specified update threshold for external transfers.

You can define the update of organizational assignments for employee transfers only once in your organization. Consequently, all locations will use the same values.

  1. Set the flag No Update for Internal Transfer if you want to prevent automatic updates to the organizational assignments in the case of temporary and permanent internal transfers.
  2. Set the flag No Update for External Transfer if you want to prevent updates to the organizational assignments in the case of temporary external transfers subject to the conditions mentioned above.
  3. Enter a planning horizon in days if you have set the flag No Update for External Transfer.
  4. Enter an update threshold for external transfers in days if you have set the flag No Update for External Transfer.
  5. Save your entries.

Note: The values entered for the planning horizon and for the update threshold are only relevant for external transfers, and must be greater than zero.
