WFA_DFLTSETGRP - Define Default Group Settings

Use this activity to define default group settings which allow you to:

• Organize employees into groups so that you can apply the same settings and attributes to the entire set of employees during employee maintenance.

• Set default settings applied to the employees, which substantially reduces the time required to perform employee maintenance activities.

You have completed the following activities:

• Define Cost Profiles and Cost Premiums

• Define Work Rule Template Sets

• Define Break Types

• Define Break Rules

• Define Availability Templates

• Optional if not using age restrictions:

• Define Age Qualifiers

• Optional if not using iTime Clock:

• Define Restriction Profile

• Define Pre-Payroll Calculation Profile

• Define Pre-Payroll Calculation Exceptions Profile

1. Choose New Entries to define a new default group settings definition profile, or select an existing profile to maintain its values.
2. For new entries, enter the Default Settings Group ID.
3. Enter the validity start and end dates. Use the end date 12/31/9999 for an open-ended validity range.
4. Enter the short description the system uses for display purposes.
5. Optionally, enter a long description.
6. Choose the following standard entries from input help to apply the settings to all employees in the group:

Cost profile (for planned costs)

Work rule template

Break rule set

Availability template

1. Choose the pay type (how the employees in the group are paid) from input help; Undefinedis the default value.
2. Choose the employee type (how the employees in this group are employed) from input help; Undefinedis the default value.
3. Select the Defaultindicator if this definition is the default for newly hired employees. You can only set one default group settings definition as the default for new employees.
4. Select the Contract Employee indicator if this default settings group is for contract employees.
5. Make the following entries if special age considerations apply to the employees in the group:

Set the age range for eligibility based on the minimum and maximum ages.

Optionally, choose the age qualifier from input help to be applied to "special age" employees in the group.

Leave the above settings blank if not using age restrictions.

1. Choose the following standard entries from input help if employees associated with this default settings group will use iTime Clock:

Restriction Profile

Pre-Payroll Calculation Profile

Pre-Payroll Calculation Exceptions Profile

Leave the above settings blank if not integrating to iTime Clock.

1. Save your entries.
