WFA_HOLCOSTPROF - Define Holiday Cost Profiles/Premiums

Use this activity to define holiday cost profiles. Holiday cost profiles improve the system's accuracy in calculating the estimated cost of a schedule that includes holidays. You can only define one holiday per week with this activity.
You have completed the activity Define Default Group Settings.
- Choose New Entries to define a new holiday cost definition profile, or select an existing profile to maintain its values.
- For new entries, enter the Holiday Cost Profile ID.
- Enter the validity start and end dates. Use the end date 12/31/9999 for an open-ended validity range.
- Enter the short description the system uses for display purposes.
- Optionally, enter a long description.
- Choose a holiday cost profile and double-click Holiday Cost Premium.
- Choose New Entries to define new holiday cost premiums, or select an existing profile to maintain its values.
- Choose the default settings group to which the holiday cost profile applies from input help.
- Enter the validity start and end dates. Use the end date 12/31/9999 for an open-ended validity range.
- Enter the maximum number of hours per week that full time employees should be limited to for the holiday week. For example, if your maximum number of hours per week is typically 40, a week with one holiday would limit the maximum hours to 32 (assuming 8 hour days).
- Set the include holiday hours indicator if the system is to include holiday hours in overtime calculations of estimated pay.
- Set the include hours worked indicator if the system is to include holiday hours worked in overtime calculations of estimated pay.
- Choose the holiday premium type for the employee's planned costs from input help:
- Additional Amount per Hour--Adds the value in the Additional Amount field to the employee's planned cost per hour.
- Multiple per Hour --Uses the Base Hours, Base Hours Multiple, and Multiplier after Base Hours to determine how to compute the holiday premium as a multiplier for the employee's standard cost per hour.
- Additional Amount per Day --Adds the value in the Additional Amount to the employee's planned costs for the day.
- Undefined--The default displayed until you choose a premium type.
- Enter the number of hours paid to the employee for working a holiday, regardless of whether the employee is scheduled to work.
- Enter the amount either to be added per hour or per day for employees working on a holiday. How this field is used is defined by your entry in the Holiday Premium Type.
- Choose the currency for the additional amount from input help.
- Enter the number of hours on which the Base Hours Multiple is used; after this number of hours, the Multiplier after Base Hoursis used. For example, if set to 8, the Base Hours Multipleis applied for any hours from 0 to 8 and the Multiplier after Base Hours is applied to any hours 8.25 and greater.
- Enter the multiplier to apply to the base hours. For example, if this value is 1.5, the hours from 0 to 8 would be multiplied by 1.5.
- Enter the multiple to apply to all hours over the base hours. For example, if this value is 2.0, the hours from 8.25 and greater are multiplied by 2.0.
- Save your entries.
