Use this activity to define the specific holiday, currency, and time reference definitions the system uses when generating schedules.

  1. Choose New Entries to define a new general settings definition profile, or select an existing profile to maintain its values.
  2. For a new entry, enter the General Location Settings ID.
  3. Enter the validity start and end dates. Use the end date 12/31/9999 for an open-ended validity range.
  4. Enter the short description the system uses for display purposes.
  5. Choose the holiday calendar from input help.
  6. Choose the currency from input help.
  7. Choose the reference time from input help. This identifies the relative times used in availability templates and preferences and is either:
  • Operating Hours --Use the location open and close times for all employees.

  • Primary Work Area Hours --Use the open and close times from the employee's primary work area.

  • Maximal Work Area Hours --Use the earliest work area open time and latest work area close time for all employees.

  1. Choose the adjustment type from input help. This sets the adjustment that location managers can access on the Budgetary Constraints page when generating forecasts.
  2. Optionally, set the Closed on Holidays flag if you want the system to consider locations to be closed on legal holidays by default.
If you set the flag, no scheduling is done for legal holidays. If a legal holiday is a half-day holiday, such as Christmas in Germany, and the location is open for a specific time-period, you have to define special operating hours for that half-day holiday.
  1. Optionally, enter a long description.
  2. Save your entries.
