In this IMG activity you define planned and booked capacity thresholds beyond which assignment checks should trigger a warning message.

When checking capacity during manual assignment creation or modification, the system looks at the window covering the assignment (and any existing assignments that overlap it). The following examples illustrate the assignment capacity check results if you set the Booked Limit to 100.00 and have a basic availability of 08:00 to 18:00.

Example 1: You try to book a concrete assignment for 08:00 to 14:00. During the window of the assignment 08:00 to 14:00, the capacity utilized is 100%. You will not get a warning because you do not exceed 100%.

Example 2: A concrete assignment is generated from 17:00 to 09:00 (the following day). During the window of the assignment 17:00 to 09:00, there are only 2 hours of availability and 16 hours assigned. The capacity utilized is more than 100%. This will trigger a warning.

Example 3: You have an assignment from 08:00 to 8:30 and another assignment from 10:00 to 11:00. When you create a concrete assignment from 08:30 to 10:30 you will receive a capacity warning because the system will look at the window 08:30 to 11:00 (take the earliest start and latest end of: 08:30 to 10:30 and existing overlapping assignment 10:00 to 11:00) and see that from 10:00 to 10:30 there is no capacity available for the resource. The capacity utilized is more than 100%.

The "WFD Resource Profile" Business Add-In provides a method to retrieve a resource's capacity limit profiles. The "Default" field in this IMG activity marks the capacity limit profile entry that will be supplied for the default implementation of the "WFD Resource Profile" Business Add-In.

1. Select an existing entry to modify its values, or choose New Entries to define a new overtime limits profile.
