As a prerequisition for using the settlement document lists for FI documents the application 'LO-ABR' has to be activated at the Business Transaction Events (BTE).

Customizing: Logistics - General -> Settlement Management -> System Enhancements -> Use Business Transaction Events (transaction FIBF). Hence in the menu under 'Settings -> Identification -> SAP Applications' the activation flag for the application LO-ABR should be set.
