WRFAPC21 - Set Up Article Hierarchy Level Relevant for Planning

In this step, you define assortment types for hierarchy levels of an article hierarchy.

SAP Retail creates assortments taking into consideration parameters specified by the assortment type (for example, assortment dimensions or layout assignment). If an assortment type is not specified for a particular hierarchy level for which the assortment is being created, the system uses the assortment type associated with the parent hierarchy level, and so on, until an assortment type is determined.

For example, suppose you have an active article hierarchy (AH), with the following branch for fashion buying:

In the above example, if an assortment is planned at the hierarchy level 5, but no assortment type is defined for hierarchy level 5, then the assortment type defined for hierarchy level 4 is used in SAP Retail during the assortment creation.
