WRF_ART_DISC_0001 - Control Scope of Check

In this IMG activity, you can define the scope of checks performed before deleting materials. This setting only serves to improve performance during material deletion runs.

You can define a time interval from the start of the archiving run during which the system does not run the checks again. A corresponding note is output to the log of the deletion run if necessary. This setting is especially well-suited for background processing when you start the deletion run for materials soon after the archiving run.

The scope of checks is calculated dynamically for discontinuatino and archiving of materials - which means only database tables that are not blank are read and checked for each material. You cannot influence this dynamic calculation of the scope of checks.

BAdIs WRF_DISCONT_PARAMS_I and WRF_DISCONT_CHECKS_I have to be present and active.

You have to make sure that the archived materials are no longer used operationally before they are deleted, which means no dependent master or transaction data may be processed for the involved materials. Otherwise, serious database inconsistencies can occur.

In the default settings, the full scope of checks is run during the deletion run for materials.

You can use the default settings. If you have performance problems when deleting materials, you can set the interval to a value greater than zero.
