W_CS_005 - Define Hierarchies for Displaying Close-By Plants

You use this Customizing activity to define how plants are grouped and displayed within the Close-by Plants function ( transaction WSD_CBP). It enables you to organize and group plants according to your own criteria, for example, by geographical location or by distribution chain.
The first level of Customizing is the definition of hierarchy names. These hierarchies can then be used within the Close-by Plants function.
The second level of Customizing is the selection of hierarchy levels for a given hierarchy. You must select attributes for the plant to be used for grouping. In the application, all plants sharing the same information for these attributes will be grouped together.
Three hierarchies are available: geographical, distribution chain and none. These hierarchies use the following hierarchy levels:
- Geographic: Country and Region
- Distribution chain: Sales Organization and Distribution Channel
- No hierarchy: No criteria
- Create a new hierarchy entry and set its description. Select this new item line and double-click the Hierarchy Levelsfolder in the left pane.
- Create a new hierarchy level entry. Select which field from the plant table (T001W) you want to use for this hierarchy level. You can create as many hierarchy levels as necessary to meet your requirements.
