Selection variants are used to dynamically read information structures.

In this step, you group selection variants by specific application areas such as Allocation, Markdown Planning, etc.

The use of each field name can be defined as follows:

• Field use

• S means that the field is used as a selection criterion AND to return values.

• R means that the field is used to return values only.

• Period split

• This defines the period if information structure selection is carried out over periods.

• Range parameter

• This describes a range table in which values for the selection criteria are stored. They are essential for selection.
