Portfolio determination type controls which portfolio is assigned to a Trading Contract item. In portfolio determination type, assign a Portfolio Determination Procedure and thus, the access sequence and portfolio default date, time and identification strategy. With those parameters, the portfolio number can be assigned to Trading Contract item.

Portfolio default date

This parameter determines which date in the document should be taken as the portfolio date during contract maintenance. There are eight choices.

  • Current date (Date of the document creation)
  • Posting date
  • Pricing date either Purchasing or Sales
  • Delivery date either Purchasing or Sales
  • Document date either Purchasing or Sales

Time

You can define the timing of generating a portfolio record in Trading Contract. There are four possible choices:

  • When the item is changed
  • When saving the document
  • When creating new item
  • Manual Trigger

Determination strategy

This parameter controls the method of assignment of the portfolio master. Both manual and automatic assignment are possible. It also determines the selection criteria. Five choices are available:

  • Exactly one portfolio (Default value)
  • Manual selection if not unique
  • Automatic selection based on the responsibility
  • Manual selection based on the responsibility
  • Select the latest portfolio

If you want to select the portfolio, select Manual selection if not unique.

If you set up responsibility groups, use either automatic or manual based on responsibility.

With Timing and determination strategy, the system determines the rule of assigning the portfolio master record to the Trading Contract.

Exclusive

If you set this flag, the system stops searching for a record after the first successful access for a portfolio type within an access sequence.
