SAP E-Book

In this step, you create portfolio types. The portfolio type, a kind of framework for portfolio records, contains the access sequence and default validity prompts.

  • Access sequence
The access sequence is the search strategy for portfolio records.

  • Default data
The Portfolio type has a validity period which defaults to a portfolio when created. You define the entry value from possible values provided.

  • Control data
You can set a deletion rule for the portfolio type. It determines whether the system performs specific checks before deleting a portfolio.
If you choose Deletion inot allowed, you cannot delete a portfolio of this type in any case.
If you choose Check Document Reference when deleting, the portfolio record cannot be deleted, if there are portfolio documents that remain unassigned.
Also, you can define if you allow an external portfolio number in this type of portfolio.

This Customizing activity is also relevant for Shadow Trading Contract Creation Customizing activities (See Activities below for more information):

You can create new portfolio types with a four-character name and a description.

Shadow Trading Contract Creation

Set the flag to Position Relevant for the Portfolio type you created for the Shadow Trading Contract as required by the activities:

Copying an existing portfolio type is also available. A single access sequence can be assigned to multiple portfolio types.
