In this step, you go to area menu maintenance, as report structures are processed in the same way as area menus.

If you go to area menu maintenance via IMG activity Structure Report Selection, the system displays the name of the report structure of the relevant area in the "Area menu" field.

You can edit this (or another) structure, or create a new structure.

  • Editing an existing structure:
  1. Choose the required structure from the list of favorites or using the F4 help (if you want to edit the displayed structure, ignore this step).
  2. Choose Menu structure -> Change. You go to the screen "Edit Area Menu". From here, you can create new menu entries, or change, delete, or move existing entries.
  3. Creating new entries:
To create new menu entries, position the cursor on an existing menu entry and choose Edit -> Insert menu entry -> One level lower / At the same level.
A dialog box is displayed in which you can enter the new entries. You can make the following types of entries:
File: To create a new file, you simply enter a text. This entry is automatically interpreted as a file.
Transactions: To create a transaction, you must enter the required transaction code next to the text.
Reports: To move a report to the menu, choose pushbutton 'Report...' (insert report). In the dialog box that is displayed, you can select the report that you want to insert. To do this, choose the relevant selection button under report type. Depending on the type selected, the necessary input fields are displayed.
When you exit the screen, a transaction code is generated for the selected report. The development class, and possibly also a transport order, must be entered for this.
If a transaction code exists for the selected report, this is adopted.
If you want to define the transaction code for the report yourself, choose "Display further options". The system displays two input fields in which you can enter the transaction code and a description. In addition, you must deselect the fields "Generate automatically" and "Adopt report description".
References to submenus:
In an area menu, you can include references to other area menus, such as report structures. In this way, you can create a menu from several submenus.
To do this, select the indicator for menu references. You now enter a menu name, rather than a transaction code, or select one using F4 help.
  1. Changing existing menu entries:
Select the entry and choose Edit -> Change entry -> Change. You can change the entry in the screen that appears. In some cases, it is possible to change not just the content of the entry but also the type. To do this, choose the pushbutton "As transaction" or "As file". You can make the following changes:
Current type Changeable to Prerequisite
File Transaction code The file must be empty
Transaction code File

  1. Deleting existing menu entries:
To delete a menu entry, select the entry via Edit -> Change entry -> Select/deselect and then choose Edit -> Change entry -> Delete.
  1. Moving existing menu entries:
To move one or more entries to another position in the menu, first select the relevant entry via Edit -> Change entry -> Select/deselect and then select the position that you want to move the entry to. Choose Edit -> Change entry -> Move. In the dialog box that is displayed, enter whether the entry is to be inserted at the same level as the selected item, or one level lower.
  • Creating a new structure
To create a new menu, first enter the short name for the new structure and then choose Menu structure -> Create. Then enter a long description for the new structure. You go directly to change mode. For information on the subsequent procedure, see "Editing an existing structure" above.
