In this section you can change the name of an attribute and the attribute hierarchy, delete attributes and create your own, new attributes.

If, for example, you wish to reassign a certain attribute group, you can do so without problems. It is equally not a problem for you to summarize all attributes you do not need under 'Attributes not used'. In this case, these are not used.

All attributes that occur in the current account system are supplied.

  • Select the attribute whose name you wish to change.
  • Choose Attribute -> Change.
  • Enter the new name for the attribute.
  • Choose Continue.

The attributes within a product are displayed on several screens and, within a screen, as a tree structure. This display is called an attribute hierarchy.

The attribute hierarchy is client-dependent. This means you have the option of displaying the attributes differently in each client. For attribute maintenance each subtree corresponds to one screen within the product. You can reassign the attributes freely and, therefore, change the attribute hierarchy.

  • Select the attribute you wish to reassign.
  • Position the cursor on the node to which the selected attribute is to be attached and choose Edit -> Select node, subtree or block.
  • Trigger the function 'Reassign'.

The subtree 'Attributes not used' has a special meaning. Attributes that you assign to this subtree are not displayed within the product.

When changing the attribute hierarchy, you may need your own grouping attributes. In this case, proceed as follows:

  • Select the attribute under which you wish to insert your grouping attribute.
  • Choose Attribute -> Create.
  • Enter the description of the attribute.
  • Choose the attribute category 'Grouping attribute'.

Note that your new attribute is only at this position of the attribute hierarchy for the current client. In all other clients you can find it under the main branch 'Attributes not used'.

If you wish to enhance the functionality of the products in the current account system with your own attributes, proceed as follows:

  • Place your cursor at the position where you wish to insert a new attribute.
  • Choose Attribute -> Create.
  • Enter the description of the attribute and the attribute category. The attribute category cannot be changed later. The attribute categories 'Field' and 'Feature' are supported.

After creating your own fields you must create an attribute of the category 'Field' for every field. Using Maintain field attributes you must enter the table names /field names for your field attributes. These names must be the same as the ones you entered in the field groups of your application.

Additionally, you define here what entries are possible for your field attribute within the product (default value and field modi).

You can create your own fields if those supplied are not sufficient to depict your particular requirements. You can, for example, create the field 'Creditworthiness'. As a result, this field appears in the product and you can assign it to the individual accounts.

For each feature attribute you must provide a table field or a table value of an existing table field in the data dictionary. This field / field value serves to identify your feature attribute. Using Maintain feature attributes enter the table name, field name and, if necessary, the field value for your feature attribute.

With the function module 'BKK_PRODUCT_CHECK_FUNCTION' you can check to see if your feature attribute is active for a product.

  • Select the attribute you wish to delete.
  • Choose Attributes -> Delete.

Note the following: You should not delete any of the attributes supplied by SAP. You should reassign these to 'Attributes not used'.

  • The attributes are client-independent.

  • The attribute hierarchy is client-dependent. This means you can decide for each client which attributes you do not use and in what order the attributes used are displayed.
