SAP E-Book

In this IMG activity you define that only the object types that it is meaningful to select for certain business processes and certain object roles are displayed in the input help (F4 help) on the initial screen and in the filter function on the initial screen and overview screen of the Postprocessing Desktop.

To display the combinations of business processes, object roles, and object types supplied by SAP, use IMG activity Display System Settings for the Postprocessing Desktop.

You only need to carry out this IMG activity in the following cases:

  • You wish to replace the combinations supplied with the standard system with your own combinations.
  • You have defined your own object types and wish to set up a meaningful input help for them.

Choose a business process and an object role and assign an object type.

Be aware of the following:

  • You can make settings, not only for object types that you have defined yourself. The system also displays the object types supplied by SAP as well as those defined by yourself for you to choose from. You can override the settings in system table Permitted Object Types (/SAPPO/VSVALIDOT) by assigning another object type to a combination of business process and object role contained in it in this IMG activity. In addition, in this IMG activity you also have the option of creating entries for which the business process is supplied by SAP, but the object type was defined by yourself.
  • For combinations of business process and object role to which no object type has been assigned, neither in this IMG activity nor in the system table, in the input help the system displays all the object types of the software component, irrespective of the business process and object role.

For the business process Account Closure you have also defined Card as object type.

If you execute this IMG activity and then on the initial screen of the Postprocessing Desktop choose Account Closure as business object and Main Object as object role, in the input help for the object type the system displays not only the object types supplied with the standard system (Account, Account Closure Order and Business Partner), but also the object type defined by yourself - Card.

However, if you do not execute this IMG activity and then also on the initial screen of the Postprocessing Desktop choose Account Closure as business process and Main Object as object role, in the input help for the object type the system only displays the object types supplied with the standard system, but not the object type Card, defined by yourself.
