In this IMG activity, you define EDR categories.

SAP provides the EDR category TOLLCOLL. You can use this EDR category to transfer event detail records from an external system for the purpose of toll billing. If this EDR category meets your requirements, you do not need to define additional EDR categories.

You can also define your own EDR categories in the customer namespace. This is recommended, for example, if you want to transfer EDR data with a very different technical structure from two external systems. An associated record from database tables is available for each EDR category, which you can tailor to match the structure of the transferred data. This enables you to reduce the storage requirements for the EDRs.

To define customer-specific EDRs, you have to define your own database tables and implement source code. Consequently, as part of the implementation project, you have to carefully consider whether the investment in your own EDR categories is justified.
