In this activity, you see the interface components that you can use when defining billable item classes.

In addition, you can see under Key Fields which key fields are entered for the individual statuses. Under Main Component per Record Type, you can see which interface components are the basis for the individual record types.

Depending on the definition of the interface component, the following objects are entered for it:

• The data element that contains the documentation for the interface

• The structure containing the fields that are taken into consideration during generation of the interface

• The function module that is called for a certain event

SAP provides preconfigured interface components that you can use immediately. These include basic components, which are mandatory for each record type, as well as other optional components that you can add to a class.

It is not possible for you to create your own customer-specific interface components.

An interface component first of all contains information, such as the interface name and a description. In addition, a data element (used for documenting the interface) can be entered for it.

Further, the following settings define the interface component:

• The assigned structures

The assignment of structures depends on the record type and the status. For entries that do not belong to the Main Item record type, it might be specified that these entries are only Conditionally Active.

• Prerequisite Components

This setting indicates which interface components are prerequisites. The basic components are not included here, since they are already defined separately.

• Program Enhancements

Function modules that the system calls at defined events are entered here. These function modules are used for enriching and checking data.
