In this activity, you define extension types for billable items.

You can use an extension type to integrate industry-specific fields in billable items. In processing and in the display, the extension type is treated like an additional record type.

Enter a name and a description for your extension type. Then specify the name of the database table or the CDS view that incorporates the extension data.

For an extension type, you can define events for data procurement and for the display. If you do not specify an event, the data is read directly from the defined database table or view.

For invoice printing, you can define groups for extension types to group, sort, or aggregate their records. You make these settings in the activity Define Grouping Variants for Items when Printing.
