In this activity, you define the reasons that explain why you want to create dependent items. As a rule, the dependent item reason refers to statutory- or contractual regulations.

The creation procedure defines whether dependent consumption items or dependent billable items are created for a reason.

You use the dependent item category to specify whether the created items are general dependent items (for example, dependent fees) or partner items for partner settlement.

Assign an amount calculation rule from the activity Maintain Amount Calculation Key to the reason.

Program Enhancements

You have the option at any time to adjust the dependent items created by the system based on the Customizing settings. To do this, for the dependent item reasons, the following events for customer implementations are available:

10 - General key field enrichment for posting area 8240

In this event, you can implement the logic for determining the generic key fields for master data determination.

15 - Master data determination

Here, you can overwrite the master data determined by the system by using the master data ID determined.

20 - Amount determination

In this event, you can overwrite the amount determined of a dependent item.

30 - Adjust dependent consumption item

In this event, you can access all dependent consumption items created by the system based on Customizing, and overwrite these items.

35 - Adjust dependent billable item

In this event, you can access all dependent billable items created by the system based on Customizing, and overwrite these items.

For license fees for copying music, you enter the reason MECHANIC (Mechanicals).
