_FICABI_V_TFK8012 - Activate EDR Categories
Fill RESBD Structure from EBP Component Structure Fill RESBD Structure from EBP Component StructureThis documentation is copyright by SAP AG.
In this activity, you activate the EDR categories.
To use the standard SAP EDR categories and the EDR categories you have defined, you must first activate them. To do this, from the EDR categories that exist in the system, select those you wish to use, and enter these in the list associated with this IMG activity.
Caution
Management of event detail records and billing evaluate active EDR categories only. For this reason, you must on no account activate an EDR category, create EDRs of this category in the system, and then revoke activation. EDRs with a retrospectively deactivated category would no longer be recognized by the programs. This could cause serious data inconsistencies.
For each activated EDR category, define a retention period. When selecting the retention period, you must take the following into account:
- Select a retention period that is not too long in order to prevent the storage requirement for the EDRs from becoming excessive.
- Select a retention period that is not too short in order to enable the reversal of billing documents.
- Where appropriate, take into account legal regulations for the proof of obsolete EDR data.
Consult your data administrator when setting the retention period. EDRs must never be deleted from the database before the retention period has elapsed.
Note
Avoid making retrospective changes to the retention period, since these can cause inconsistencies.
