The settings in the previous IMG activity, Maintain Account Determination for Time-Based Deferred Revenue Postings, apply for account determination for both event-based and time-based deferred revenues. In this posting area, you define deferred revenue accounts for combinations of a revenue account and a business area.

If you use event-based deferred revenues, however, you might want to specify revenue accounts for a combination of the revenue account, business area, and revenue type.

In the current IMG activity, you enter the G/L accounts for posting event-based deferred revenue for a combination of the revenue account, business area, and revenue type.

Note

If you use event-based deferred revenue, but do not want the system to determine the account to be posted based on the revenue type, then use the Maintain Account Determination for Time-Based Deferred Revenue Postings IMG activity. The system first evaluates the entries in this (the current) IMG activity. If there are no entries for the given application area in this posting area, then the system accesses the settings in the Maintain Account Determination for Time-Based Deferred Revenue Postings IMG activity.
