In this activity, you can enter an alternative data type for customer-specific fields of consumption items for the SAP Convergent Charging interface.

You define the ABAP data type for the SAP Convergent Charging interface using a data element.

For converting the field contents between the data type on the SAP CC interface and the data type of the database, you use the fields Inbound Conversion and Outbound Conversion.

Following that, you assign the data type in SAP Convergent Charging.

You can change the data type of an SAP field (such as ACCESS_SERVICEID) in the Assign Data Types to Standard Fields activity.

You store the customer field ZZ_DATE in the generated tables of consumption items in a character-like field with a length of 14 (format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS). However, the corresponding time stamp field in SAP Convergent Charging is character-like with a length of 19 (format YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SS). For the ZZ_DATE field, you enter an alternative data element that uses domain TIMESTAMP_CC_KK, for example. As inbound conversion routine use TSC19_TO_TSC14; as outbound conversion routine use TSC14_TO_TSC19. In this case, the data type in SAP Convergent Charging is "Time Stamp in ISO8601 Format" (DATE).
