Add new status values that can be assigned to a case.

Add new status values that can be assigned to a case. Status is an attribute of each case that the user can set.

The columns of the status profile have the following meaning:

  • Status Profile: Technical name for the status profile. This is preset for you. You can process the status values contained in it.
  • Status Profile Description: Description for the status profile.

You can define multiple status values in the status profile. A case can only have one current status. (Multiple statuses cannot be active at the same time) The columns of the status values have the following meaning:

  • Status: Number for a status, can be assigned freely. The status with the lowest number is the initial status.
  • Status Description: Description for the status, can be assigned freely.
  • System Status: SAP delivers system status values. You can see these by using the input help. By entering a system status, you assign a particular system behavior to the status you created. The following system status values have the following system behavior:
  • 003 (External Processing):The case is no longer ready for input. The user can only change the status by pressing a pushbutton. Responsibility for the pushbuttons rests with the applications (for example, Public Sector, FIN, CRM).

  • 007 (Completed):The case is no longer ready for input. The user can still convert the status. He or she can only change the status by pressing a pushbutton. Responsibility for the pushbuttons rests with the applications (for example, Public Sector, FIN, CRM).

  • 008 (Confirmed):The case is no longer ready for input. The status can no longer be changed.

  • 009 (Reversed):The case is no longer ready for input. The status can no longer be changed.

  • System Status Description: Filled automatically by the system.
  • L. Status: Lowest predecessor status. The user can only set the status if the predecessor status is higher than or the same as the status entered here.
  • H. Status: Highest predecessor status. The user can only set the status if the predecessor status is lower than or the same as the status entered here.
  • Auto:The user cannot set the status manually (filled automatically by the system depending on system status).
  • Event: Only relevant if you use the process route. The event is triggered when the status is set. The following events are available for selection:
  • COMPLETED: The process route was completed.

  • CREATED

  • INPROCESS: The process route was triggered.

Status Description System Status Lowest Status Highest Status
10 In Creation New/Open 0 10
20 New New/Open 0 20
30 In Progress In Work 0 40
35 With Legal Department For Release 20 37
37 Clarified by Legal Department Released 35 37
40 Processing Completed Completed 30 40
50 Completed Confirmed 40 40

Interpretation of the Status Schema:

The status controls the status transitions. A status can be set if the status of the current status is higher than or the same as the lowest status number and lower than or the same as the highest status number.

Example 1:"Clarified by Legal Department" status can only be set if the lowest status is 35, that is, "With Legal Department", and the highest status is "Clarified by Legal Department". That means that "Clarified by Legal Department" status can only be set if the current status is "At Legal Department".

Example 2: The current status is 30 "In Progress". Possible subsequent statuses are all statuses for which the following applies: Lowest status < = current status < = highest status
So, permissible subsequent statuses would be: "With Legal Department", "Processing Completed”
