Allows you to assign a number range object to the relevant countries/regions. You can assign the same number range object to more than one country/region.

You assign a number range object to the relevant countries/regions. You can assign the same number range object to more than one country/region.

The standard system provides 20 standard number range objects that you can assign to one or more of the countries/regions offered for selection in this Customizing activity. From the object name, you can tell the following about the number range object:

  • Length of the number range
  • Whether the number range contains a subobject (S)
  • Whether the number range is dependent on the fiscal year (Y)

For example, number range FKK_ED07SY is 7 characters long, contains a subobject, and is dependent on the fiscal year.

The selection of a number range object from the 20 standard objects may be limited because of the following:

  • Legal requirements for the prefix and suffix that restrict the length of the sequential numbers
  • Legal requirements that limit the reuse of a sequential number
  • Technical restrictions that allow only one particular number range object to be used to ensure the functions work correctly

In Italy, for example, you can select only one number range object.
