If you create provider contracts from external systems (senders), the system notes this in the provider contract header.

Define the defaults for these entries and define a number range for identifying the provider contract for each sender.

By defining the number range, the numbers from this number range interval are reserved for this sender and cannot be used for contracts of other senders (or contracts without sender).

Assign no sender to a contract, or assign a sender but no number range interval to a contract. Then all numbers from the number range intervals not assigned to a sender can be used for this contract.
