In this activity, you define number ranges for the automatic generation of rating IDs. The rating ID is comprised of the rating date in the format YYMMDD, followed by a number from one of the number ranges defined in this activity, and a two-digit internally assigned sequence number.

You only need to define number ranges in this activity, if you trigger rating processes for rating consumption items in SAP Convergent Invoicing.

Define the number range by specifying the upper and lower limit.

You are not allowed to use external number assignment.

To avoid wait times for the number range object, create several number ranges for parallel rating processes. Each individual rating process then determines the number range automatically on a random basis. Using random assignment ensures that all number ranges are used with approximately the same frequency.
