In this IMG activity, you define the insurance policies for which SAP Capital Yield Tax Management (CYT) is to perform withholding tax calculation.

The calculation of withholding tax in SAP Capital Yield Tax Management can only be executed for those deposit contracts that are subject to taxes.

For example, in Germany, deposit contracts concluded before 01/01/05 are not subject to capital gains tax. You do not need to create separate insurance objects that are relevant for withholding tax for these deposit contracts.

In Germany, deposit contracts concluded after 01/01/05 can be subject to capital gains tax or the flat withholding tax. For this reason, you create different external insurance object categories for these deposit contracts (see prerequisites and examples).

You have defined and set the insurance object category in the IMG activity VO- configure categories and assign number ranges .

You define the relevant external insurance object types in this IMG activity so that the system can identify contracts that are relevant for withholding tax.

Depending on the insurance object category defined here, you can define the external products and yield types used for taxation in SAP Capital Yield Tax Management in the IMG activity derive external product and yield type.

In the case of deposit contracts that are subject to capital gains tax, you define external insurance object category 51 (deposit contract subject to capital gains tax) in this IMG activity. SAP Capital Yield Management (CYT) can now identify these contracts as relevant for withholding tax.

In the case of deposit contracts that are subject to the flat withholding tax, you define external insurance object 52 (deposit contract subject to flat withholding tax) in this IMG activity. SAP Capital Yield Tax Management (CYT) can now identify these contracts as relevant for withholding tax.
