In this step, you maintain the valuation for the duplicates found during the creation of a new business partner using transaction FMCABP. The system determines the duplicates by comparing the name, street and the bank details with existing business partners. The system calculates a valuation number for the duplicates found using the values defined here. Exact matches/similar matches can be valuated for the following fields:

• Name

• Street

• House number

• City

• Postal code

• PO box

• Bank details
  
  

The system evaluates similar names, streets and house number. A match check is carried out for the other fields. The duplicates determined are sorted according to valuation number. The higher the valuation number, the more likely it is that the existing business partner matches the new business partner to be created.

Example

You have maintained valuation number 100 for a similar name, 150 for a matching name, 50 for a similar street, and 80 for a matching street.

When searching for existing business partners, the system finds a duplicate with a similar name and the same street. The valuation number is calculated in the following way:

100 (similar name) + 50 (similar street) + 80 (same street) = 230.
