In this IMG activity, you define key figures for Reporting. Key figures allow for flexible processing in Reporting by making it possible for you to evaluate database entries yourself.

Key figure

A key figure is a business or fiscal value. From a technical viewpoint, the key figure groups together the values for several data sources (database tables). To define a key figure, you must first choose the relevant data sources. The data sources selected are then displayed on separate tabpages.

Key figure term

A key figure summarizes one or more terms for each data source. In a term, you define the way data from a data source is filtered and totaled by defining attributes or fixed values for each data field. By assigning several terms to each other (using +/- sign), you can configure a differentiating way of totaling the data for a key figure.

Meta values

When selecting the individual attributes you can define for a data field, in addition to directly entering the original data from the data source, the interpretation of meta values is also supported. This means that original data can also be totaled, modified or dependent on the entry made by the user.

The following meta values are supported for key figures:

Attribute Meta Value Interpretation
# functions in same way as *
* All existing values for the given attribute are totaled
0 The current fiscal year is entered
-1,-2...+1,+2... A preceding/subsequent year to the year entered is calculated

-1,-2...+1,+2...

You want to define the value of the commitments authorization for the next two years as a key figure. To do this, you define the following terms for the "budget data" data source:

Sign Value Type Transaction Subtype Year Fiscal Yr
+ 43 KBUD * 0 +1
+ 43 KBUD * 0 +2

SAP provides a number of predefined key figures for the customer group German Government.

The following reports are based on key figures and support you in defining your own reports. This means that you can define your own key figures and use formulas and summarization and include this data in as additional columns in the ALV grid:

The following reports are also based on key figures and support you in defining your own reports with restrictions. The layout is predefined, but you can modify the key figure delivered by SAP.

+2

We advise you not to change the key figures provided by SAP. If you want to change one these key figures, use the copy function (Copy) and save the key figure under a different name before making any changes.

In the case of the reports RFFMKBHA and RFFMKBHE, it is only possible to have a user-defined version of the report by modifying the SAP key figures. You should save the SAP key figures as original SAP key figures before they are modified in the customer namespace.

A key figure comparison is supported in the IMG activity Compare Key Figures

  3. Choose Select Data Source and select the relevant data source.
All data fields of the chosen data source are displayed on a tabpage.
  4. Generate a line item that is ready for input for the key figure term, by choosing Insert Line Item
  5. Define the key figure term by:
    1. copying database entries directly to the input fields using F4
    2. or defining the relevant attribute using meta values
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5, if you want to define several terms for the key figure
  7. Save your entries

You can transport key figures across the whole system by choosing Transport key figure and making the assignment for a transport request.
