In this Customizing activity, you activate the simplified master data synchronization.

Individual enterprise services are sent in numerous device and profile transactions. This requires a significant administrative effort. If the simplified master data synchronization is used, individual services are no longer sent for the master data, but an entry is written to the trigger table TEAMI_SMDSTRIGG in each case instead. You can use the report REAMI_SIMPLEMDSYNC (transaction EAMISMDS) to send these entries in regular batch runs in the background or by starting this manually.

The sending process is the same as that used in the mass transactions:

  • EAMISYNC for devices (service UtilitiesDeviceERPSmartMeterReplicationBulkRequest_Out), see also the documentation at help.sap.com/utilities → Advanced Metering Infrastructure → Switching to an Advanced Metering Infrastructure → Synchronize Device Data.
  • EAMIPROFSYNC for profiles (service UtilitiesTimeSeriesERPReplicationBulkRequest_Out), see also the documentation at help.sap.com/utilities → Advanced Metering Infrastructure -> Switching to an Advanced Metering Infrastructure -> Synchronize Profile Data.

Once these two services have been sent, the system deletes the trigger entries.

If the trigger table contains several trigger entries for the same device or profile (such as several consecutive updates to a device), the system compresses the records. This means that a device or a profile is only sent once, since in this case only the most recent status is relevant.

If you want to use the simplified master data synchronization, you must do the following:

  • You have activated the business function ISU_AMI_5 using the switch ISU_AMI_5_SMDS.
  • You have activated this Customizing activity.
  • You have the authorization E_AMI_SMDS to start the replication report.

Note that you should avoid reversing the activation if possible to prevent any potential conflicts occurring.
