In this Customizing activity you define time-of-use interfaces. Time-of-use interfaces are allocated rates, which are permitted for interval meters and allow the billing of profiles.

When you create the time-of-use interface it has the status Inactive. However, you can only use active interfaces in the rate (see Status of Time-of-Use Interface).

1. In the header data, make sure that the interval length of the time-of-use interface (for example, 15 mins or 30 mins) is compatible with the interval length of the profile (for example, 15 mins).
2. Define the result parameters.
3. Define the day groups for each season and allocate days to them.
4. Define the periods (with date) and allocate time-of-use formulas to them for specific times of day. Allocate result parameters to the formula parameters.
5. You also have the option to define exception days for the interface and add notes.

As a follow-up activity ensure that the operands in the rate are assigned values:

1. Enter the time-of-use interface in the rate fact group
2. Allocate the result parameters from the interface to the operands
