SAP E-Book

In this Customizing activity, you define a division and key date-related quantity determination procedure.

To do so, enter the division and the changeover date from which the procedure is to apply as well as the relevant quantity determination procedure.

Once you have saved the new entry, execute the conversion report Define Quantity Determination Procedure (REQD_SET_QDPROC_TO_REGISTER) so that the system defines the quantity determination procedure defined in Customizing at register level for existing installations.

Note:
Note that changing or deleting the existing Customizing entries can lead to inconsistencies. Only one entry is admissible for a division.

  1. Programs in which the quantity determination procedure is defined and displayed at register level:
  • Conversion report REQD_SET_QDPROC_TO_REGISTER
You can use this report to define the quantity determination procedure at register level for installations that already exist in the system. This can take place for an entire division, for a division with a selection of installations, or for a meter reading unit (see Define Quantity Determination Procedure).

  • Technical Transactions
If a new device is installed or an old device is removed, or if devices are replaced or modified, the system defines or modifies the quantity determination procedure accordingly in the technical transactions during saving in the background.

The quantity determination procedure is defined automatically in the following transactions:
- EG34: Billing-Related Installation
- EG31: Full Installation
- EG30: Full Replacement
- EG35: Billing-Related Removal
- EG32: Full Removal
- EG42: Device Modification
- EG60: Change Logical Register Number
You can display the quantity determination procedure using the following transactions:
- EG70: Change Rate Data
- EG71: Display Rate Data
To display the quantity determination procedure, enter the data and then choose Extras -> Quantity Determination Procedure in the menu.
  1. Logic for Defining or Changing the Quantity Determination Procedure:
  • The quantity determination procedure applies to all installations.

If a device is installed in multiple installations, the quantity determination procedure appies for all installations in which this device is installed.
  • The quantity determination procedure is defined from the Customizing settings as a default setting. The division for the quantity determination procedure from Customizing is the division for the installation.

  • If a device is installed in multiple installations, the division of the quantity determination procedure corresponds to the division of the leading installation. You can use interface method IF_EX_ISU_QD_PROC->CHECK_LEADING_INSTALLATION of BAdI ISU_QD_PROC to determine which is the leading installation.

  • You can use interface methods IF_EX_ISU_QD_PROC->CHANGE_VALID_FROM_EADZ_QD and IF_EX_ISU_QD_PROC->CHANGE_VALID_FROM_EZWG_QD to determine the key date from which the quantity determination procedure is valid.

  • The quantity determination procedure at register level is stored in table EADZ_QD.

For more information and examples on determining quantity determination procedures, see SAP Library under SAP ERP -> SAP ERP Enhancement Packages -> Enhancement Package 6 -> Industries in SAP ERP -> SAP Utilities -> Business Process Oriented Documentation -> Measurement Data Management -> Quantity Determination.
