In this IMG activity, you define the two master data templates to be used for creating or changing the following data:

  • Business partner and contract accounts
  • Connection object and premise

These can be found in the following menu path: Utilities Industry ->Customer Service -> IS-U Sales Processing.

SAP provides the example templates SALES_PARTNER and SALES_SERVLOC. You can copy these in the initial screen and then change them so that the system creates the objects with the master data values you have specified. Generally, you do not have to change the allocation of the parameters to the fields; however, if necessary, you can do this. Enter the names of your new master data templates in a sales processing profile. Define Profiles for Sales Quotation/Order.

To change your templates, proceed as follows:

  1. Maintain the individual nodes of the master data template. In the hierarchy on the left-hand side, you can see the master data template nodes of the master data template category you selected. You can derive information about the status of the nodes from the icons.
  • A red icon indicates a master data template node with an mandatory attribute that has not been assigned a value. Red icons observe the hierarchy of the master data template category. For example, if a mandatory attribute of a lower-level master data template node has not been assigned a value then it also has a red icon.

  • A grey icon indicates an inactive master data template node. You can acticvate and replicate these depending on the cardinality specified in the master data template category.

  • A green icon indicates a master data template node with all the required entries.

  1. In the hierarchy, select an active master data template category and maintain the attributes.
  2. If you want to supply a parameter with an attribute then ensure that the parameter has a valid name. You compose a parameter name in the following way:
  • For the business partner or contract account: PARTNER + hyphen + field name from structure ESALES_SETTYPE_PARTNER.

Example of attribute for business partner type: PARTNER-BPKIND.
  • For the connection object or premise: SERVLOC + hyphen + field name from the structure ESALES_SETTYPE_SERVLOC.

  • Example of attribute for premise type: SERVLOC-VBART.

As example master data template cateogories are provided by SAP, you can copy them and structure all the master data templates to be used in your company at once. Alternatively, you can view and maintain the existing master data templates.
