This customer exit is in the program flow after the preparation step, but before the dates are calculated. You can use this customer exit to influence Transportation and Shipment Scheduling in two different ways:

  1. You change the data used for calculation of the dates. In particular, these are the durations and time streams (calendar) that have been determined from the SAP APO master data. In addition, data that cannot be determined in SAP standard can be enhanced. These are:

  • A departure plan to restrict times of goods issue.

The schedule can be defined in the form of a time stream that contains the permitted departure times as working time. This time stream must be maintained as a planning calendar in SAP APO (in Customizing for the SAP Advanced Planner and Optimizer (SAP APO) select Master Data -> Calendar -> Maintain Planning Calendar (Time Stream)). The restriction to specific departure times is possible because the time stream contains a working time second respectively for this date. In SAP standard, no schedule is determined. A schedule can only be defined using a customer exit for the scheduling calculation.
  1. You replace SAP APO Transportation and Shipment Scheduling completely through an individual implementation.
