Device &4 cannot process loaded volume. (C R)

Message Long Text :

Cause . . . . . : One of the following occurred:
-- The volume being processed for file &2 in library &3 cannot be read.
-- The volume loaded on device &4 cannot be processed, because the format or density is not valid.
-- The tape may contain data which was compacted and device &4 cannot read compacted data.
-- The operator loaded a different volume during file processing.
-- The tape device needs cleaning.
-- The tape volume is damaged.
-- A hardware error occurred.

Recovery . . . : Do one of the following and try the request again:
-- Use a different piece of media.
-- Clean the tape path and heads, reload the tape volume, and then type an R to try the operation again.

Possible choices for replying to message . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . :
C -- Cancel processing.
R -- Try volume open operation again.
Technical description . . . . . . . . : The tape may be damaged or recorded in a density that the device does not support. Error Log ID &22.
